Wild by the Sea

Perched above the sea, the garden unfolds through a series of planted terraces before giving way to the wild coastal landscape beyond. A sinuous wood stair traces the natural contours of the site, gracefully negotiating the dramatic descent to the beach while becoming part of the landscape itself. Billowing grasses, drifts of perennials, and flowering shrubs blur the boundaries between garden and protected land. The landscape feels both cultivated and wonderfully untamed, as though it had simply emerged from the dunes.
